Geoffrey A. Fowler lululemon party at Club budVANCOUVER, British Columbia - there were parties galore for the play of intimate corporate Dickinson, flashy red carpet Affairs. By far it exclusive happened on the ice rink at Canada hockey place, where the women's celebrated hockey team on the ice - with beer and cigars - after their gold medal victory against the United States on Thursday.
In the last two weeks, Wall Street Journal reporter scattered, to taste the best - and most Canadian - parties. A constant: Beer. The happiest parties lured "The Great One," Canadian hockey legend Wayne Gretzky.

This star-studded night club boasted a red carpet and bumping dance floor. Many athletes stopped by including ice dance gold medal winner Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, as well as on the rocks, Barenaked Ladies Group. Food: Budweiser and other Budweiser.

On the ground floor exhibits at the Olympic Winter Games 2014 in had Russia. Swirled upstairs, clowns and guests taste tested five types of vodka. VIPs include Prince Albert of Monaco and, best of all – Mr. Gretzky.

Americans are not the only ones to reduce the Irish culture to beer and bagpipes. No prominent showed up when we were there an Irish born - not even in this particular night, though, to be fair, Ireland has only six competitors here. Molson and Guinness on tap, but no Canadian - or Irish - delicacy in sight.

A Canadian Frat Party multiplied by 10. Many celebrities emerged including Mr. Gretzky and hockey stars grant Fuhr and Lanny McDonald. Comedian Seth Meyers, rock God Bryan Adams and actor Donald Sutherland you were there. No surprises on the buffet: Canadian beer, wine and cheese.

Part Disneyland, part beer garden, high school gym. Speed skating was the place fills up with orange-clad mobs, the prospect of an other Dutch medal. The Royal family, Dutch athletes and Dutch artist ate potato sauerkraut "Hotchpotches," which proved to be mashed potatoes with a hot dog. Tasty anyway.

Ritzy passenger cars with a glass roof of top deck. Most cars leased to companies, to private schmoozing on this three hour Vancouver to Whistler trip. A bevy of Albertan officials rode the train feasting on "Mountain pass pancakes" with Aprikat made beer.

A luxury party for a luxury brand that could have taken place at Applebee's. Pretty boring unless you journalists.
