Associated press rescue workers pulled out the body of a victim of the accident in Mysore, Karnataka, India, Dec. 14, 2010.The bus from the road turned and fell into the deep waters of the reservoir late Tuesday, Ramesh Babu, a police officer for room control in Mysore, said a city close to the site of the accident.
The five people that sponge in the hospital were hospitalized on land, said Mr Babu. Local villagers and police recovered 29 establishments, including those of 25 women and children, and divers have been scouring for the reservoir, other facilities, he said.
It was not immediately clear, as many people in the bus travelled the return of a wedding in a nearby village. Press Trust of India said the driver lost control when he turned to avoid a pothole.
The accident took place in Nanjagud village outside of Mysore, which is about 90 miles (145 km) southwest of Bangalore, India's software hub is.
India has the highest annual road death toll in the world according to the WHO. More than 110,000 people die each year in road accidents, according to police numbers.
Most accidents are streets, overcrowding by accelerating worse, causing poor vehicle maintenance.
