Foreign Ministers of the European Union on Monday decided to "immediately" targeted sanctions against selected Ivory Coast leaders, yet another blow against the commandment of acting President Laurent Gbagbo in after a contested election to stay to do.
During a meeting in Brussels, the Foreign Minister said the sanctions shall apply to those who have refused to place under the supervision of Alassane Ouattara, the USA, EU and African Union as the legitimate President. These include visa bans and asset freezes. European officials noted the sanctions would almost certainly target, Mr. Gbagbo and his allies, but said the target list had developed not.
