KHAR, Pakistan - some 150 militants attacked five jeopardise safety in Pakistan's tribal area near the Afghan border overnight, sparking a dispute, the 11 soldiers and 24 insurgents killed, officials said Friday.
The fighting in the area Mohmand tribal shows that insurgents in the region of considerable ability to coordinate and blended attacks mount conserved despite several military offensives against the Taliban and al Qaeda militants in northwestern of Pakistan.
The top government officials in Mohmand, Amjad Ali Khan, said 11 soldiers died in the fighting, while a dozen wounded.
To help the militant fighters, called to push back, said major Fazl ur Rehman, a spokesman for the Frontier Corps force troops in combat helicopters.
The fight ended tomorrow. Information from Pakistan's tribal regions is almost impossible to verify because access is restricted and conflict zones are dangerous independently.
Abdul Ahad Baba was a hotspot for years and the focus of several army operations. Its position makes it a valuable transit point for insurgent finds Afghanistan, to travel, where U.S. and NATO forces fight.
